Permanent residency refers to a person's visa status within Poland. The person is allowed to reside indefinitely within Poland if he or she is not a citizen. A person with such status is known as a permanent resident.

Generally speaking, if a foreigner is granted a temporary residence he or she is authorized to stay in Poland for a period.
